The Set Day Off or Home Schedule page guides you through setting your day off schedule. This schedule is for the days of the week when you are not working and therefore might need an alternate schedule for heating or cooling your home. It is a basic schedule to help get you started. You will be able to change it and build upon it as needed later. For more information on schedule strategies that you may want to consider before setting a schedule, refer to the topic Overview of Thermostats.
Note: On this page you simply set the times and temperatures for a schedule to use on days that you identify as being home. You will select the actual days of the week (such as Saturday or Sunday) that you identify as the weekend later in the wizard process.
Example of a day off/home schedule
The following targets show how a day off schedule might be set up during colder months:
- Target #1: The first target of the day may be when you wake up in the morning and want to make sure your home is warm. You therefore might set the target #1 time to 7:00am and the temperature to 70 degrees. This will give your home an hour to heat up before you get out of bed at 8:00am.
- Target #2: The second target of the day may be when you go to sleep for the night and want to lower your heat. You therefore might set the target #2 time to 11:30pm and the temperature to 62 degrees. This will turn down the heat 30 minutes before you are in bed at midnight.
- Remember, you have not yet specified the actual days of the week (such as Saturday or Sunday) for this schedule. You simply specified the schedule for a category called day off (or home). You will specify which days of the week are your day off/home days later in the wizard process.
