Home Set Schedule Page

The Set Schedule page helps you assign a schedule for automatically adjusting your home's temperature at pre-specified times during the day. For more information on schedule strategies that you may want to consider before setting a schedule, refer to the topic Overview of Thermostats.

To set the schedule for your entire home:

  1. Be sure the name in the Schedule Name box describes the schedule. This name helps you identify the schedule when assigning it to days of the week on the Thermostat Schedule page. For example, Day Off is a good name for days when you are home. Long Workday may be a good name for a regular day that you get home from work late.
  2. By default, a schedule applies to your entire home. However, if your home has multiple thermostats, you will also have the option to schedule a specific room or zone (discussed in the next section). In this case, make sure the Whole Home Control check box is selected to set the schedule for your entire home.
  3. In the Whole Home Control panel, notice if there are any targets already specified. You will recognize a target with an activation time and corresponding temperature setting. If a target exists, you can simply edit it. If a target does not exist, or if you want to add multipe targets (to change the temperature at different times during the day), click the + button for Add Target. You will probably want to have at least two targets: one to lower the thermostat when you are not home and one to raise the thermostat when you are home.
  4. Drag the target slider control to the time that you want to activate the selected temperature. Alternatively, you can click the target slider control to select it, and then type the time in the Time box.
  5. In the temperature box for the slider control, use the arrows to specify the temperature you want to set for the corresponding time. Alternatively, you can click the slider control to select it, and then type the temperature in the Setting box above the schedule panel.
  6. Add additional targets as needed to change the temperature setting at additional times during the day. To do so, click the + button for Add Target above the schedule panel. When the new target appears, repeat steps 4 and 5 for the new target.
  7. If you want to remove a target from the schedule, click to select its slider control and then click the - button for Remove Target above the schedule panel.

To set the schedule for individual rooms or zones (if you have multiple thermostats):

  1. Be sure the name in the Schedule Name box describes the schedule. This name helps you identify the schedule when assigning it to days of the week on the Thermostat Schedule page. For example, Weekends is a good name for days when you are home. Long Workday may be a good name for a regular day that you get home from work late.
  2. Select the Rooms or Zone Control check box.
  3. Notice that the Rooms or Zone Control panel contains a schedule selector for each thermostat.
  4. For each thermostat in the Rooms or Zone Control panel, perform the following steps to set that thermostat's schedule:
    1. Be sure to know your strategy for scheduling each room or zone. Remember that each thermostat can have its own schedule, so you probably want to have each schedule work in a manner that best suits your lifestyle. For example, you might schedule your living room thermostat to turn up in the evening when you are home and awake but then turn down at a time you usually go to sleep. Similarly, you might schedule your bedroom thermostat to turn down during most of the day but then turn up slightly at a time you usually go to sleep or wake up. For more information on applying scheduling strategies, refer to the topic Overview of Thermostats.
    2. If the thermostat you want to schedule is not open, click the plus (+) icon next to the thermostat name to open it.
    3. With the thermostat schedule open, notice if there are any targets already specified. You will recognize a target with an activation time and corresponding temperature setting. If a target exists, you can simply edit it. If a target does not exist, or if you want to add multipe targets (to change the temperature at different times during the day), click the + button for Add Target. You will probably want to have at least two targets: one to lower the thermostat at times when you are not likely to be using the room and one to raise the thermostat at times when you are likely to be using the room.
When the new target appears, repeat steps 4d and 4e for the new target.
    7. If you want to remove a target from the schedule, click to select its slider control and then click the - button for Remove Target above the schedule panel.
