A Career Built on Writing

I am a writer, writing professor, author, and screenwriter with over 25 years of professional writing experience, primarily in technical communication and higher education.

My technical writing and teaching expertise includes:

• Development of new documentation groups, strategies, and deliverables
• Classroom instruction and writing (technical and non-technical) education

I currently teach as an Assistant Professor of Teaching in the Professional Writing program at WPI and previously taught as an Associate Professor of Practice in the Professional and Technical Writing program at Virginia Tech. I also served as the Director of the Professional Writing program at WPI.

My background includes an MFA in screenwriting, a master's degree in technical and professional writing, documentation management, course and e-learning development, and a JavaHelp book for O'Reilly. Whether developing technical documentation, teaching future writers, or writing screenplays, I've spent my career helping people understand ideas through clear communication and compelling storytelling.
