Home Smart Control Page

Smart Controls help you manage your energy use by allowing you to quickly power on or off electronics, lights, and other devices from the Consumer Portal. The Smart Control page provides tools to create, edit, and activate your Smart Controls.

To create a new Smart Control:

1. Click the New Smart Control button.
2. The Consumer Portal walks you through creating the new Smart Control.

To edit an existing Smart Control:

1. In the list of Smart Controls, find the Smart Control you want to edit and place your mouse over it.
2. When the options menu appears, select the Details/Edit option under the menu.
3. The Web Portal walks you through editing the selected Smart Control.

To activate a Smart Control:

Note that your devices' physical on/off switch must be left in the on position for Smart Controls to be able to power them on and off.

1. In the list of Smart Controls, find the Smart Control you want to activate and click it.
2. If it is a default Smart Control, the Smart Control activates.
3. If it is not a default Smart Control, you are prompted to power on or power off the Smart Control. Select the option you want to activate.

What are the other options on the Smart Control options menu?

The options menu for each Smart Control contains the following options:

• Details/Edit menu option: Select this option to view or edit the details of the Smart Control.
• Delete menu option: Select this option to delete the Smart Control. A prompt opens where you must confirm the deletion request. You cannot delete default smart controls.
• Pause Schedule menu option: Select this option to pause the Smart Control, if scheduled. When a Smart Control is paused its icon in the list turns gray and appears with a paused symbol.
• Start Schedule menu option: Select this option to start the Smart Control's schedule, if it is currently paused.
• Move Up menu option: Select this option to move the Smart Control higher in the list. You cannot move default smart controls.
• Move Down menu option: Select this option to move the Smart Control lower in the list. You cannot move default smart controls.
