Home Energy Management Devices

Energy management devices help you create a smart, energy-efficient home by allowing you to monitor and control the appliances and electronics you have connected to your energy management system. You can conserve energy with minimal impact to your lifestyle by using our products to easily manage your appliances and electronics through the Consumer Portal.

Gateway

The Gateway provides the wireless network connection for your PowerNodes and other energy management devices, securely connecting the devices you have powered through PowerNodes to your energy management system and allowing you to monitor and control your devices’ power usage remotely through a Web browser or smartphone application. The Gateway also provides the secure connection for other energy management devices on your network (such as Network Lighting or an In-Home Display).

PowerNodes

A PowerNode is a smart outlet adapter that connects your devices to electrical outlets and your energy management system so that you can monitor and control your devices’ power usage remotely through a Web browser or smartphone application. The PowerNode automatically connects to your Gateway, enabling the Gateway to securely connect the devices you have powered through your PowerNode to your home network. PowerNodes are available with a one-port or multi-port configuration.

Thermostats

The Consumer Portal has a Smart Thermostat interface that allows you to manage and monitor thermostats connected to your energy management system. Once the thermostats are connected through your Gateway, you can use the Consumer Portal to do such things as control your home's temperature settings remotely and create intelligent schedules for automatically heating your home.

In-Home Display

The In-Home Display connects to your energy management system to show you information about your energy consumption and billing and allows you to forecast future usage and costs. If you have PowerNodes connected to you network, you can also use the Display to activate your system’s default Smart Controls. The Display automatically connects to your Gateway, enabling the Display to securely connect to your energy management system and access your energy use information.

Connected Lighting

Connected Lighting offers a wireless smart lighting system that helps make the lighting in your home more energy efficient and easier to manage. Kits include LED or CFL light bulbs and a remote control that work together to help you manage your lighting wirelessly. Some lighting kits also work with a Gateway, which provides an enhanced network connection to your light bulbs. This Gateway connection allows you to use your Web browser, smartphone, or other smart devices to set up and manage your home lighting system as well as set up user-defined schedules and other controls for automatically turning your lighting on or off.

Meter Reader

The Meter Reader connects to your electric and gas meters to measure energy usage. A sensor that is connected to your meter reads your energy use as it passes through the meter, making the information available to you immediately. The information read through the Meter Reader is transmitted to your Gateway so that you can monitor and control your energy use. The Meter Reader is weather-resistant and designed to be mounted next to your meters.
